Be sure to check out Shaun T’s Miracle 15-Minute Workout from The Dr. Oz Show that aired last week. His warm-up alone will get you to break a sweat. Almost two years ago (before I was pregnant), I got in the best shape of my life by committing to 60 days of Shaun T’s, INSANITY. I couldn’t believe the transformation. My friends and family told me I looked slimmer every time I saw them. I was building lean muscle and burning hundreds of calories every day. I have never really stuck to a workout program before but for some reason I became addicted to INSANITY. I think it is because I actually saw results. If you want to slim down and push yourself to your limits with interval training, then you should look into owning your own copy of Shaun T’s, INSANITY. If you think you aren’t physically ready to meet the demands of his workout, then start with the 15-minute workout from
The Dr. Oz Show. Every little bit counts!
During the winter of 2010, my husband and I were excited for the release of Shaun T’s, INSANITY. As soon as we received the program, we tore it open and began 60 days of the most intense interval training we have ever done. Six days a week, we followed the two phases and at the end of the first week we saw results. We were hooked.
INSANITY is a 10 disc set with cardio and plyometric drills that are packed with intervals of strength, power, resistance, and core training. No equipment or weights are needed. There is a fit test to complete as well. Don’t feel so bad about your first results. I promise, they will improve!
After completing the program, I lost 10 pounds and had more definition in all of my trouble spots. I even earned myself some abs! I am convinced that anyone who gives INSANITY an honest effort will lose weight, build lean muscle, and undergo a total body transformation.

Before I got pregnant, my husband and I decided to give Beachbody Trainer, Shaun T’s, INSANITY workout a try. This program was crazy! Packed with plyometrics, interval training, max conditioning cardio, and core and muscle strengthening, we worked out six days a week for 60 days. I got in the best shape of my life. I dropped 10 pounds and lost inches everywhere. I said hello to my new abs and goodbye to my back fat.
There are a few reasons why I chose INSANITY before getting pregnant. Dave’s sisters were getting married and I was in both weddings. Also, we were finally taking our delayed honeymoon in the very bikini friendly Dominican Republic. I wanted to look my best. Most importantly, I wanted to have a picture to post on my fridge just in case I had trouble losing the baby weight–which leads me to why I am writing this article.
After four months, the baby weight was gone. In fact, I am now six pounds lighter than I was when I first got pregnant. Don’t let this fool you. I am nowhere near the shape I was in after doing INSANITY. I have lost muscle and I still have a little jiggle in some of those scary places (baby or not, you know what I mean!). This proves that you can’t always rely on a scale alone to tell you whether you have reached your fitness goals.
While I am shocked that the weight came off so quickly, I am still trying to get back into a routine of eating better (and more often!), working out, and achieving new goals. I have taken measurements of my arms, legs, hips, waist and chest to compare with previous and future measurements. I have used a caliber to get a more accurate percentage of body fat.
I don’t pay too much attention to the scale these days. It calls my name every morning but it gives me false hope. When the jiggles are gone and my abs are back, then I will know that I am the healthiest I can be…no matter what that scale says.
